Many people I know want to start a blog but are hesitant to do so as they think setting up and maintaining a blog is quite an expense. While there is some truth to that, that doesn’t mean that you can’t set one up for free. Today I will take you through the various steps that you do to set up your very own blog free of any cost. So let’s begin

1. Building a website
The first and most important step in creating a successful blog is making a good website.
There are a lot of blogging platforms that help in creating websites for your blog. Wix.com,WordPress.org, Blogger, Medium, LinkedIn, Weebly etc. are some of the sites that help you with free blog setups. You can choose the one you like. Right now I am going to tell you about the one that I use personally that is, WordPress.com
(I have not used any of the other ones so I feel that I am not qualified to speak on what I don’t know. There are a lot of other great articles about many other such sites feel free to check them out.) Here is a great video explaining the different service providers.
WordPress.com
Whether you are a person who is serious about pursuing a career as a blogger or just someone who wants just try out blogging, the one blogging platform that I would personally recommend to you is wordpress.com. I have been using it for some time and got to say it is pretty easy to understand and economic to use. It has both a free plan and a paid plan. Although I would recommend the paid plan in the long run, when you are just getting started you could just use the free plan.
As most of you just starting out your blogging journey would be a beginner and may not be familiar with all the background stuff, so using wordpress.com makes all those things super easy. It have a wide variety of themes that makes website designing easy and efficient. (You will be able to use only a few themes in the free plan the rest are paid)
It also takes away the hassle of hosting the website as WordPress also takes care of this. Also, adding and editing content is fast and simple. You can do this even by just using your phone through their app.
You can use a variety of plugins which allow you to almost do anything on your website. (You cant use any plugins in the free plan)
