I’m Back With Resolutions (Please Don’t Ask About Last Year)

Yeah, yeah—I might have procrastinated a little bit. I’m starting my 2026 resolutions in mid-April. But hey, better late than never.

It’s a new year, and like at the beginning of every year, we set ourselves dreams and goals about what we want to achieve. And just like most people on this wonderful planet, usually I also forget about them within a couple of weeks and move on with my life.

Firstly, you might be wondering how I ended up here. Well… that’s a long story. To get the full version, you might need to go and read my last blog post,“Plans were Made…. Plans were Ignored”

What are you looking at of-course I am going to mention my last post, have to get those views right?

In short, you could say I had a lot of plans for last year… but none of them went according to plan.

But if we look on the bright side, for the first time in my life, I actually reviewed my previous year’s resolutions—and came up with a clearer set of goals for this year.

So, let’s cut to the chase.

For easier understanding and tracking, I’ve divided my goals into three categories: professional, financial, and personal.

1.Career Plans: Now Featuring More Confidence

Last year I had planned to complete 4 SPOM Paper ( they are kind of big deal for CA Final students) but as of today I have still not completed even 1 of them. The less we talk about CA final the better.

So the goal is the same for this year also but I just need to make to more interesting. As a great man once said:

Doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results is insanity

So to spice things up I have decided to split it into Phases,

  • Phase I : Complete SPOM 3 and 4. The easiest of the lost the once that require the least time.
  • Phase II : SPOM 1 and 2. More difficult that the rest, most people get stuck here.
  • Phase III : You guessed it right, CA Final preparation the most difficult of the lot.

To make a little bit more different for this year lets add a new bonus point.

I have to get myself a bookkeeping gig, and to get 10 ITR filling,

Now that’s a challenge that i am going to enjoy

2.Money Matters: Please Behave This Year

As my article ship days are coming to an end I need to figure out new sources of income. Last year I had this fantastic plan to earn money form blogging, and stock market.

Wonder how that went?

This year also I have the same goals, but instead of blogging money—which I think I am never going to get—let’s change it up to finding my first tuition student.

Currently, I have invested around 2500 just for trading, and let’s see if I am able to turn this into additional profit by the end of the year. Anything above 10 percent is a win for me.

I really need to track my finances and get my financial management back on track. I feel like I’ve lost my way regarding this somewhat this year.

As an aspiring CA, not being able to manage my own financial planning properly doesn’t make sense—it feels like a waste. I also need to start generating some income from my ITR filing and bookkeeping services.”

3.Fixing Myself, One Day at a Time

With deep restraint and regret, I am deciding not to pursue relationships this year. Last year, I went after this, but nothing much happened apart from disappointment. So this year—no more girls.

If the right person comes along, I’m going to do a 180 on this without a doubt.

I want to give more importance to physical fitness, and I need to stay consistent in my journey to get in shape.

Reading and writing are the cornerstones of a person’s life—or at least, that’s what I believe. So reading at least 14 books and writing blogs will be my goals for this year.

I’m not setting any numerical goals for blogging, because writing itself is the most important thing. If I’m able to get anywhere with it, that will be enough.

Conclusion: Let’s See How Long This Lasts

Last year resolutions and goals were mostly a complete bust, so the bar is quite low for me. Anyway I am going to tract my goals this year and hopefully that will ma e a difference this year.

Who am I joking, anything more than the bare minimum will be a win for me.

So what are your New Year’s resolutions, and how is it going? Please let me know in the comments. And stay tuned for the next post, as there are going to be some surprises—I can’t wait to share!

Go on, drop a comment—you could be the first ever and basically secure a spot in the thank-you credits of my future biopic . Also, fair warning: last time I said ‘see you in the next post,’ I disappeared for a whole year… let’s hope I don’t pull that again!
